“Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Jeremiah 6: 16
About Us
Now in our 10th year, Crossroads Ministries is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization for women coming from prison. They struggle with addiction and more, needing education, life skills, and a safe place as they regain their self-worth. Women represent the fastest-growing segment of the criminal justice system (PEW Center, 2008) increasing by 757% between 1977 and 2004, a rate nearly two times the percent increase in the male offender population (Frost, Green, & Pranis, 2006). The number of women involved in the US criminal justice system doubled during the 1990s (Beck, 2000). An estimated 68 of every 100,000 U.S. women are serving time in a state or federal prison (Sabol, West, & Cooper, 2009).
While each case is unique, the common denominator among all of our women is that they need HELP. Our ultimate goal is to provide a shelter for homeless women coming out of incarceration so that they can HEAL through classes and small group therapy that will educate them in every area that is needed in their lives; along with assisting them to restore family relationships and become strong women of faith. The main focus of all our programs is to show our ladies that they can have HOPE for their future. And to know that they are loved by their community and God.
